DBrent asks on August 2, 2005, 12:49am:

Okey, this is kinda weird, and purely theoretical, but...

The current method of Shielding seems highly inefficient to me, and I'm not just talking about bubble shields. Almost every method seems to involve a shield that covers the entire body. Now, I don't claim to be a master psion, but why would you defend the entire body against effects/attacks that likely originate and strike at specific points? Wouldn't it be better to create a psionic disk using the same techniques as a shield and program it to move in front of attacks, spin around you at very high speeds, or use some similar method of getting between a psionic effect and you? This would allow for much less psi per shield and also provide better shield intermixing.

Then again, this might be crazy, so can you guys tell me whether or not any of you have tried it and if it sounds viable to you?

Rainsong replies on August 2, 2005, 7:45pm:

Sure it can be done, but it gives you much less room for error.

mr_fox asks on July 26, 2005, 7:34pm:

I have a question about a shield combination. In the guide in the articles section is recommends to not put the mirror shield under any other shields. But if you were to put it under a marshmallow shield, wouldn't it be beneficial? If anything isn't completely absorbed with the marshmallow shield, it'll bounce of the mirror and have to go through the marshmallow shield again doubling the absorption, right?

Rainsong replies on July 27, 2005, 11:17pm:

The problem is that the bounce-back will further damage the marshmallow shield. However, you do have a point, if your marshmallow is stronger than your mirror. Either way, if the incoming "energies" get through the outer shield far enough to hit the second one, it has caused damage. Marshmallows can be programmed to "fill in" holes, sort of, so your approach could work. Thanks for bringing this up. It's always good to think through one's shielding strategies.

tk_pk8 asks on July 27, 2005, 10:52am:

I've joined this website about a day ago, and of course I'm new to this, but anyways my question is when you visualize the psi in your abs do you look at your abs or can you visualize them without looking at them?

Rainsong replies on July 27, 2005, 11:13pm:

It is not necessary to look at your abs in order to do this. Some people find it helpful to do this, the first time, however.

psiwierdo asks on July 27, 2005, 6:33pm:

Hello, I have been a member of psipog not too long, and I have a slight problem on making psi-balls that I can't find an answer to in the articles. I don't know whether I should visualize the energy in between my hands (or where ever all the energy is going) to be visible or invisible.

Rainsong replies on July 27, 2005, 11:12pm:

Most people find it easier to picture it as a visible substance. Beyond that, it makes no practical difference.

TheFriz asks on July 24, 2005, 9:08pm:

I have being trying to make Psi Balls unsuccessfully for 3 days before I finally was able to create what I think was a grouping of Psi, yet not quite a ball. My question is whether or not what I felt was Psi. Here is what I did: I visualized energy coming from my energy source (the sun in this case) and sent it to my right hand, after a while I began to feel a tingleing, then I moved my left hand over to feel it, and it felt like there was somthing there, almost like I had a magnet in each and the negative charge was pushing my hands away. I realise that I do not need to see it to know that it is there, but because this is not really a shape more of just a ...puddle of Psi, if you will, does that mean that it is just my mind playing a trick on me?

Rainsong replies on July 25, 2005, 12:45am:

Without verification from a third party (ie, having someone else feel it), you can't be absolutely sure of these. However, your description fits the usual experience of them. It isn't unusual for psiballs to be "not quite balls" at first.

screamo_psi asks on July 23, 2005, 7:26pm:

After a psionicist becomes experienced do they have to keep picturing these images of psychic tubes and things and going through the processes, or can they just will their ability to happen?

Rainsong replies on July 23, 2005, 8:22pm:

At least some of the "experienced" psionicists eventually "will it" to happen without the other procedures. It is a matter of habit and long practice. Even so, when trying something new, they still tend to go step-by-step. Short-hand is for well-practiced stuff.

FireFreak asks on July 22, 2005, 1:07pm:

If i make a psi-ball and i throw it, could i send energy to the psi-ball to prevent it from defusing, and how do i do that?

Rainsong replies on July 22, 2005, 9:57pm:

Include a duration in the programming.

FireFreak asks on July 20, 2005, 12:11am:

I was wondering can i move my hands while making a psi-ball?

Here is my question:

Let's say that I make a psiball with the energy of the earth (as a source)and I program it to stay there. Then later is running off of energy...Can I use a difference source to recharge the psiball?

Peebrain replies on July 17, 2005, 12:06pm:

Sure. Try and see what happens Smile.

Bollockai asks on July 15, 2005, 7:05am:

can you close your hands if you have made a psiball, like close them as normal?

SunTzu replies on July 15, 2005, 1:18pm:

yes, but typically it is a little bit more difficult, and it exposes your hands to psi (not always bad, depending on the programming).
